My Story

Welcome to The Holistic Soul Reiki Academy, I'm SO glad you're here! 

I first discovered Reiki in 2000 when I was part of a spiritual development group. I'd heard the word mentioned a few times but never really understood what it was. I went on to train as a holistic therapist in 2011, training in Reflexology, Hypnotherapy, Massage, and Aromatherapy.

In 2017 I booked onto a Reiki I class, and as corny as it sounds, it changed my life forever.

I wasn't prepared for the power of this incredible energy and the amazing healing results that followed. They say Reiki finds you when you need it most, and it certainly did for me. My 18-month-old granddaughter had been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor just a few months earlier and was given only a 2% chance of survival. I spent every weekend in Bristol Children's Hospital giving my granddaughter Reiki; the difference it made to her was incredible. Eight years on, she is in mainstream school and living her life to the full.

Once I became attuned to Reiki, I just wanted more of it. I then went on to train as a Reiki practitioner and then I qualified as a Reiki Master/Teacher under the Holy Fire system. More recently, I continued my training to the Karuna Reiki Master level, and I am a registered teacher at the International Center of Reiki Training. 

It was through the Karuna Master Teacher training that I was introduced to the power of sound combined with Reiki. Since that discovery, I have always combined sound healing with my Reiki sessions. This is always done following a discussion with the client and with their consent. I have yet to meet a client who didn't welcome the added healing.  

I’ve now expanded Holistic Soul to The Holistic Soul Reiki Academy to spread Reiki to even more people through teaching both in-person and online.
